Toyota Announces Pricing for All-New 2012 Prius v and Prius Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles.  Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA, Inc. announced manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP) here today at the annual Green Expo Hard to two new hybrid vehicles, the v Prius and Prius Plug-in.

Since 1997 to date, the Prius has become the dominant leader in hybrid technology worldwide. In the U.S. alone, the Prius has sold more than one million units since 2000. 2012 BMW 530d GT M-Sport-front angle

BMW 5 Series featuring the latest option with the design concept of Gran Turismo. With a view that is not much different from its predecessor but with some additional supporting features. Exterior Design :

The new edition comes with an aerodynamic bodykit, M Sport suspension settings, some equipment and the addition of M Sport trim, and – thanks to increased lift height of 5 GT – the smallest-looking 19in wheels we’ve found in some time.

Interior Design :

This is a very refined and luxurious car for up to four passengers, with reclining rear chairs that provide as much legroom as a full-sized limousine, and plenty of headroom too. Its raised ride height makes getting in and out that bit easier than it might be, although it does little for visibility.

Engines :

With six-cylinder deisel engine enhanced, can drive this car with Top speed: 149mph, 0-62mph: 6.9sec. And the power of the engine reaching 242bhp at 4000rpm; Torque: £ 398 ft at 3000rpm. In addition the car is equipped Gearbox: 8-spd auto. Our 530d test car had a higher level of grip and sharp dynamic response than the standard car. With mode “Sport” is selected on the Control Performance Drive, it’s also quieter backroad machine; still not very interesting or exciting to drive, but allthesame car more competent, with the powertrain, strong efficient.

Safety Sistem and Features :

At this point we’d usually add a caveat about BMW’s optional Adaptive Drive package, without which the 5 GT makes do with passive dampers and conventional anti-roll bars – and in our experience is a much less agreeable car dynamically. But BMW is currently giving away a free specification upgrade with the 5 GT that includes a head-up display, nappa leather, adaptive xenon headlights, soft close doors and Adaptive Drive.

Loaded with all of that free kit, and fairly effectively combining luxurious rear cabin space and hatchback-derived practicality, the 5-series Gran Turismo has a great deal going for it. Nearly three years after launch, you could say the car has reached maturity. For those who like the idea of a 5-series saloon with a bit extra – but who, for some reason, don’t like the idea of a 5-series Touring – we’d say now’s the time to buy.

Mercedes-Benz SL-Class (2013) - Front Angle

This car is really a sports, luxury and comfort. With luxurious and cool features that will make this car became popular and the most awaited his arrival. Chassis :

Consistent weight reduction is one of the most outstanding design characteristics in the new SL. For the first time Mercedes-Benz has implemented an all-aluminium bodyshell in a series-production model. Only very few components consist of other materials. The designers use the even lighter magnesium for the cover behind the tank. High-strength steel tubing is integrated in the A-pillars for safety reasons. The aluminium structure is not only lighter but also proves superior to the predecessor’s steel construction in terms of rigidity, safety and comfort. The result: high rigidity, high safety levels and better vibration characteristics.

Although the new Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is even more comfortable and has more assistance systems on-board than its predecessor and therefore does actually sacrifice some of the weight saved through the aluminium bodyshell, the scales show some astonishing figures: the new SL 500 (1.785 kg) weighs around 125 kilograms less than its predecessor. On balance, the SL 350 (1.685 kg) is even 140 kilograms lighter – all thanks to a host of other intelligent enhanced details to reduce weight, which Mercedes-Benz has also implemented in the new SL in addition to the aluminium bodyshell.

Interior Designs :

The new Mercedes-Benz SL-Class combines its aesthetically honed profile, which follows the Mercedes-Benz tradition, with a luxurious feel. Fine materials, perfectly finished with great attention to detail, distinguish the style and character of the interior. Compared with its predecessor, the new generation of the SL is much longer 4612 mm (+50 mm) and wider 1877 mm (+57 mm), providing more room for more comfort in the interior, too. Three types of wood along with two different aluminium trim finishes are available. Perfectly in tune with the roadster’s character, it combines the unpretentious atmosphere of a high-performance sports car with a comfortable, stylish ambience one comes to expect in a luxurious touring car.

Exterior Design :

The latest generation of the SL is a stylishly sporty and elegant luxury sports car with the classic hallmark SL balanced proportions: the long bonnet gives way to a compact passenger compartment that is set well back. Finely worked details, a striking rear end as well as ventilation grilles with chromed fins from the dynamic traditional Mercedes-Benz design heritage visually emphasise the SL legend.

An upright classic sports car radiator grille clearly marks out the new SL visually as a prestigious member of the current Mercedes-Benz sports car family. The centrally positioned star is a contemporary reinterpretation of the famous trademark, which now extends into the centre section with its organically flowing contours.

Dynamically slanting headlamps set well to the outside flank the striking front end and give the new roadster its own unmistakable face. The headlamps come as standard with the Intelligent Light System (ILS). With five different lighting functions that are tailored to typical driving and weather conditions, and are activated depending on the driving situation, they offer the driver a much better illuminated field of vision. The striking sidelights and the horizontal strip of the daytime running lamps in the far ends of the bumper feature LED technology.

Engines :

The new V8 in the SL 500 develops 320 kW (435 hp) from its displacement of 4663 cc and thus around 12 percent more than its predecessor despite some 0.8 litres less displacement. The fuel consumption has been reduced by up to 22 percent. It uses just 6.8 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres, making it almost 30 percent more economical than its predecessor. Both engine variants come with a standard-fit ECO start/stop function. The 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission, which has been optimised in relation to fuel consumption and comfort, also contributes to the exemplary, low fuel consumption. The fuel economy of the BlueDIRECT engines takes nothing away from the roadster’s raciness. Quite the contrary: the SL 350 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, making it three tenths of a second faster than its predecessor. The SL 500 takes just 4.6 seconds – eight tenths less than the previous SL 500.

Roof Control :

The sixth generation of the SL also offers a vario-roof that can be retracted into the boot using an electrohydraulic mechanism to save space, which converts the SL in a few seconds into a roadster or a coupé, depending on the driver’s wishes and the weather. Unlike its predecessor, three versions are available for the new SL: painted, with glass roof or with the unique panoramic vario-roof with MAGIC SKY CONTROL. The engineers have refined the operating mechanism for the roof and boot lid. It now takes less than 20 seconds to open or close the roof completely.

The Safety :

Thanks to the crash-optimised aluminium structure, standard-fit PRE-SAFE® and assistance systems on the same high level as the S-Class, the SL is the world’s safest roadster. The rigid aluminium bodyshell forms a sturdy passenger compartment along with precisely defined deformation zones in the front and rear ends. In the event of the vehicle overturning, A-pillars made out of a mix of steel and aluminium and two roll-over bars protect the passenger compartment. The restraint systems including the two-stage driver and front passenger airbags have been further developed. A headbag integrally covers the side head-impact area. An additional thorax airbag in the seat backrest can protect the upper body in the event of a side impact. Another new feature is the crash-responsive NECK-PRO head restraints developed by Mercedes-Benz which are fitted as standard in the SL.

In the new Mercedes-Benz SL-Class too, a unique combination of driver assistance systems helps prevent accidents. These include the standard-fit drowsiness detection system ATTENTION ASSIST and the ADAPTIVE BRAKE. The latter features ABS, acceleration skid control (ASR) and active yaw control, and offers comfort and convenience functions in addition to safety functions.

The ADAPTIVE BRAKE works in conjunction with the equally adaptive brake lights. In emergency braking situations, it warns vehicles behind with flashing brake lights.

PRE-SAFE® Brake: autonomous partial and emergency braking in response to a serious risk of a rear-end collision

As an option DISTRONIC PLUS proximity control and PRE-SAFE® Brake, which is already well proven in other Mercedes-Benz models, are available. Both work on the basis of the same radar sensors. Once a serious risk of a rear-end collision is detected, the PRE-SAFE® Brake warns the driver initially and can initiate autonomous braking if the driver fails to react, and so either prevent the accident or at least mitigate its severity. PRE-SAFE® can also activate occupant protection measures.

Infotainment :

Even in the entry-level variant, the new Mercedes-Benz SL comes with the “Cockpit Management and Data System” COMAND. Functionality includes Bluetooth telephony along with simpler operation of the car phone. COMAND Online with internet access and DVD changer is also available as an option. It provides unlimited web browsing while the vehicle is stationary along with high-speed access to a Mercedes-Benz online service – for instance requesting a weather report or a special destination search. There is also the option of sending individual destinations and routes via Google Maps to the vehicle. For the first time, Mercedes-Benz is also offering new apps for the new SL: in addition to a free news app and a Facebook app, there are optional.

Both COMAND versions feature a high-resolution TFT colour display with 17.8 cm diagonal (800 x 480 pixels) at the side next to the instrument cluster. This screen arrangement prevents the driver from being distracted as far as possible.

2012 Audi A1 Sportback - Front Angle

This car is elegant, luxurious and sporty. Audi A1 Sportback a new member of the family of a successful A1 is scheduled to begin in early 2012. This car has a lightweight body structure and dimensions of the new model, which measures 3.95 meters (12.96 feet) long. Buyers can choose between three TFSI petrol and three TDI diesel engine producing between 63 kW (86 hp) and 136 kW (185 hp). Exterior Design :

The Audi A1 Sportback takes up the design of the three-door A1. The front end is dominated by the large single-frame grille with its beveled upper corners. The headlights are also available with xenon plus lamps, and LEDs give the daytime running lights a homogenous appearance. The sculpted tail lights are also equipped with light-emitting diodes – in this case SuperRed LEDs. A choice of 12 paint finishes are available, including the new color Samoa Orange, which is exclusive to the Audi A1 Sportback. Another option is the S line exterior package with its smart, sporty details.

Interior Design :

The interior of the Audi A1 Sportback is spacious, bright and airy, with dramatically elegant lines. The instrument panel, whose front slopes gradually toward the cabin, resembles an airplane wing. Numerous lovingly designed details, such as the precise click of the knobs for the air conditioner or the stitching on the leather steering wheel, illustrate the premium character of the Audi A1 Sportback. The Audi A1 Sportback comes standard with four seats; a fifth seat is optional. They provide a sportily low seating position and good support. All four doors offer ample storage.

The luggage compartment of the Audi A1 Sportback has a capacity of 270 liters (9.53 cu ft). Folding down the split rear seat increases this to 920 liters (32.49 cu ft). The optional luggage compartment package makes loading even more practical, with usefully divided storage compartments under the loading floor and other amenities.

Engines :

The Audi A1 Sportback is available with a choice of six four-cylinder engines: three TFSI and three TDI units. All of the engines follow the downsizing principle – they substitute forced induction for displacement and draw their fuel through direct injection units. All versions except the 1.6 TDI with S tronic and the most powerful gasoline engine are equipped with a start-stop system.

The base engine, the 1.2 TFSI, produces 63 kW (86 hp). Particularly effective thermal management contributes to its low fuel consumption of 5.1 liters per 100 km (46.12 US mpg). The two 1.4-liter TFSI engines produce 90 kW (122 hp) and 136 kW (185 hp). The top-of-the-line gasoline engine is supercharged and turbocharged, resulting in 250 Nm (184.39 lb-ft) of torque, a zero-to-100 km/h (62.14 mph) time of 7.0 seconds and a top speed of 227 km/h (141.05 mph).

Three TDI units round out the lineup. The 1.6-liter engine is available in two different versions, with 66 kW (90 hp) and 77 kW (105 hp). When paired with a manual transmission, both versions consume just 3.8 liters of fuel per 100 km (61.90 US mpg) on average, which corresponds to only 99 grams of CO2/km (159.33 g/mile). The 105 kW (143 hp) 2.0 TDI to follow later accelerates the Audi A1 Sportback to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 8.5 seconds, yet its average fuel consumption is just 4.1 liters of fuel per 100 km (57.37 US mpg).

The transmission also underscores the high-tech character of the Audi A1 Sportback and its special position in the compact segment. Audi offers the seven-speed S tronic as an option with the 1.4 TFSI with 90 kW (122 hp) and 1.6 TDI with 66 kW (90 hp); it comes standard with the top TFSI model with 136 kW (185 hp). The dual-clutch transmission shifts comfortably, extremely quickly and with no perceptible interruption to the flow of power. The two clutches do not need a separate oil supply, making the S tronic even more efficient.

The driver can let the seven-speed S tronic, which also includes a hill hold assist, shift automatically or control it manually. Shift paddles on the steering wheel are available as an option. The manual transmissions – with a five-speed or six-speed gearbox depending on the engine – also offer the perfect combination of sportiness and efficiency.

Equipment :

The Audi A1 Sportback will debut with an extensive array of standard features. The base Attraction line already comes equipped with manual air conditioning, a split rear seat, a radio remote-controlled central locking system, power-adjustable side mirrors, power windows, the chorus radio and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. Safety equipment comprises two front airbags, two thorax/pelvic side airbags and two head airbags. Belt force limiters, the integral Audi headrest system and Isofix anchor points for child safety seats in the rear round out the program.

Exterior details identifying the Ambition line are 16-inch alloy wheels, high-gloss exhaust tailpipes and fog lights. The sport seats include lumbar supports, and the passenger seat is also height-adjustable. The shift lever, the steering wheel and the handbrake lever are covered in leather; some areas of the cabin are highlighted with aluminum-look trim and the air vents are in high-gloss black. The driver information system includes the on-board computer with efficiency program and gear-change indicator (with manual transmission). Special seat upholstery and interior color choices round out the Ambition line.

Infotainment and Connected :

The first component is the optional concert radio with its SD card reader. It serves as the foundation for the connectivity package, which includes the Audi music interface, a Bluetooth telephone preparation kit and a navigation preparation kit. The customer can activate the latter at a later time.

At the top of the line is MMI navigation plus, which sets new standards in the small compact segment. It includes a large hard disk, the MMI operating principle, a DVD drive and powerful voice control. The 6.5-inch monitor, which folds out from the instrument panel, displays three-dimensional graphics in high resolution. Examples of the additional high-end complementary features available include a digital audio tuner and the 465-watt Bose surround sound system with 14 speakers. The front woofers are illuminated with LEDs. Bluetooth and wired interfaces are available for cellular phones and external players.

Another novelty in the segment is the Bluetooth online car phone that brings Audi connect, the new online services from Audi, to the A1 Sportback. These include navigation with images from Google Earth and Google Street View, specially prepared news, weather and travel information, web radio and voice-controlled POI search. A WLAN hotspot connects mobile devices on board to the Internet. Audi traffic information online provides a precise and up-to-the-minute picture of traffic on the chosen route.

Price :

The Audi A1 Sportback will debut at attractive prices. The 1.2 TFSI in the Attraction trim line costs €16,950, and the 1.6 TDI with 66 kW (90 hp) is priced at €19,050.

Exterior Design :

It is hard to decide where to look first – the immediately recognizable V-shaped nose that has become a Chevrolet Camaro trademark, the unmistakable tail, or the sculpted rear shoulders. All details of the car have been carefully designed to re-capture the spirit of the legend that first rolled off production lines 45 years ago while creating an thoroughly modern, 21st century sports car.

The V-shaped nose is flanked by high-intensity discharge headlamps with glowing LED Xenon halo rings, mimicking deep-inset eyes and giving the Chevrolet Camaro a menacing look. Chevrolet’s ‘gold bowtie’ proudly adorns the front-end of the car and directs your eyes across the power dome hood, which gives a dynamic feeling of motion even when stationary.

The rear fascia is unique to the European Chevrolet Camaro models. Twin LED tail lamp elements mirror the unique look of the vehicle’s front. The rear design is finished off with large, round chrome exhaust tips similar to those used on the Corvette Z06.

Interior Design :

Carrying forward the spirit and feeling of Camaros of the past, the interior conveys simplicity and refinement, with contemporary details in the dials, switches, cluster and ambient lighting. The integrated center stack design combines easy-to-reach stereo and HVAC controls into a single piece of modern electronics with oversized knobs – detailed with rubber grommets and chrome – to match the character of the nameplate.

The Chevrolet Blue Ice ambient light runs across the doors. The same blue hue characterizes the speedometer on the left and rev counter on the right, with further driver information displayed in between. Optional orange ambient lighting is available with the Inferno Orange Interior Trim. As the sport seats anchor you into position, the ambient light gives a blue hue that runs all the way across the upper edge of the doors. And once you have absorbed all this, you notice that while you are looking out, everybody on the outside is looking in.

Four modes of driving

Precise and responsive steering contributes to cornering confidence as it provides great driver feedback. The Chevrolet Camaro chassis control system allows drivers to select the mode of driving:

Engines :

The European Camaro coupe and convertible are equipped with an 6.2 liter V8 engine, offering customers a choice of manual or paddle-shift automatic transmissions. The Chevrolet Camaro’s 16-valve V8 engine has a displacement of 6,126 cm3 and utilizes a central camshaft. Both manual and automatic cars have a top speed of 250 km/h.

The two engine variants – LS3 and L99 – are mated to the manual and automatic transmissions, respectively. They are essentially the same with two notable differences: the automatic version is equipped with Active Fuel Management (cylinder displacement-on-demand) and variable valve timing (VVT).

The performance of the Chevrolet Camaro is impressive: the manual transmission version boasts 432 hp at 5,900 rpm and a torque of 569 Nm at 4,600 rpm. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is 5.2 seconds for the manual coupe and 5.4 seconds for the manual convertible, both comparable to a number of top-class sports cars. The manual uses a Tremec TR 6060 six-speed manual transmission. Fuel consumption is 14.1 L/100 km (combined cycle).

Automatic transmissions are increasingly popular on performance cars. The Camaro’s automatic transmission equipped powertrain produces 405 hp at 5,900 rpm, while maximum torque is 556 Nm at 4,300 rpm. Fuel consumption for the automatic is 13.1 L/100 km combined. The Chevrolet Camaro includes GM’s Active Fuel Management System, enabling it to cruise on only four cylinders during light load conditions such as highway cruising.

Transmission :

The new Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission carries a host of features to provide an effective transfer of the engine’s exceptional power and torque while delivering high performance and fun-to-drive shifting characteristics. The L99 is mated with one of the most technologically advanced automatic transmissions on the market – the Hydra-Matic 6L80. The transmission uses clutch-to-clutch operations and an integrated 32-bit controller to deliver smooth and precise shifts.

Safety Features :

Safety is also a key element engineered into the Chevrolet Camaro. It comes with six airbags, dual stage on both the passenger and driver sides for head and chest protection, seat-mounted pelvis-thorax side airbags for driver and passenger, and roof rail side curtain airbags for head protection for all occupants on the coupe. Seat belts are equipped with load-limiting retractors and pre-tensioners aimed at reducing injury risk in frontal, offset frontal and lateral crashes. Further injury risk minimizers include a collapsible propshaft, break-away brake pedals and a ride down mechanism on the collapsible steering column.

Other safety factors include an ergonomically-designed interior with supportive bolstered-seating, visual and audio warnings, daytime running lamps, fast response LED tail and stop lights, steering wheel-mounted controls, Bluetooth, camera-aided park assist and information displays – including the exclusive Heads-Up-Display – that provide drivers with pertinent information without distraction. Six airbags are standard equipment in the Chevrolet Camaro Coupe. Deployment of airbags is regulated to ensure minimal risk to out-of-position occupants. Both driver and front passenger have head and chest protection with the front dual-stage airbags. The side airbags provide pelvis and chest protection while roof rail side curtain airbags provide head protection for all occupants (on the Coupe).

Pricing :

Prices for the coupe start at €38,900 while the convertible prices start at €43,900, although prices may vary across markets, depending on local taxation and import duties. The Transformers® Special Edition and 45th Anniversary package come at an additional €2,000 each including VAT.

Two-part rear light clusters give the typical BMW L-shape lights a particularly sporty, dynamic edge. Inside the units, two LED-powered light strips create a striking night-time look. The rear indicators and brake lights also use LED units.

Interior Designs :

Despite its lower height, the new 2+2 BMW 6-Series Coupé offers greater headroom in both the front and the rear, and height adjustment of the driver and front passenger seats now cover a greater range too. The individual rear sets also provide passengers with additional shoulder and elbow room, making for more comfortable cruising.

In tune with the rest of the car’s optimised performance and greater comfort, the new BMW 6-Series Coupé is fitted with newly developed lightweight seats with an integrated seatbelt system and Easy Entry function to the rear passenger compartment: a brief tap of a switch automatically moves the seat as far forward as possible. Sports seats and Comfort seats can be fitted as an option too. The boot can accommodate 460 litres of luggage, equivalent to three 46-inch golf bags or two medium hard-shell cases and a flight case.

Engines :

The new BMW 6-Series Coupé is available with two petrol engines and one diesel engine: the 650i, 640i and 640d respectively.

The world’s sportiest diesel engine is a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged in-line six-cylinder unit producing 313hp at 4,400rpm and 630Nm of torque from only 1,500rpm with the help of variable geometry turbocharging. The BMW 640d Coupé is capable of accelerating from zero to 62mph in 5.5seconds before topping out at an electronicallylimited top speed of 155mph.

The 4.4-litre eight-cylinder engine in the new BMW 650i Coupé is unique in that the brace of turbochargers are positioned in the V-shaped area between the cylinder banks. This design results in more efficient packaging and greater engine efficiency. A maximum 407hp is developed between 5,500 and 6,400rpm, with peak torque of 600Nm available between 1,750 and 4,500rpm.

The new BMW 650i Coupé sprints from zero to 62mph in 4.9 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 155mph. For a model of such blistering performance and refinement, it is also extraordinarily efficient, with average combined fuel consumption of 26.6mpg and CO2 emissions of 246g/km.

An eight-speed Sport automatic gearbox is standard fitment on all three models, and its wide range of ratios offer a perfect balance of muscular, sprinting performance, refined high speed cruising and low speed efficiency.

Exterior and Interior Design :

Painted in Electric White, pearl effect, today’s technology study – 3,219 millimeters (126.73 in) long, 1,678 millimeters (66.06 in) wide, but just 1,189 millimeters (46.81 in) high – has a body on which all the lines are surging forward. The greenhouse is extremely flat. The roofline drops down like a wedge while the side window rises upward. The typical Audi tornado line gives the urban concept a strong shoulder.

The characteristic Audi single-frame grill, which sports the four rings, appears as a closed surface on the Audi urban concept. It tilts forward to provide access to the charging socket. The narrow LED headlights project three-dimensionally from the body. The turn signals are LED strips running along the fenders. These closely encircle the free-standing wheels, and the front fenders turn with the wheels when steering. The three-dimensional rear lights with the tail light and brake light are integrated into the vehicle body and wrap around the top of the rear window. At the back of the car is a small luggage compartment that pulls out like a drawer.

The show car offers room for two. The driver and passenger sit next to one another, with the right seat offset by 30 centimeters (11.81 in) to the rear to provide sufficient shoulder and elbow room. The seats are fixed, integral components of the monocoque, which provides for significant weight savings. They are covered with foam seating surfaces custom-fabricated to the measurements of the customer, just like in a racecar. The seat belts run through cutouts in the seat backs.

The entire interior of the technology study is subjugated to the strict dictates of ultra-lightweight construction. Running below the windshield across the entire cabin is a wing-shaped section that is also open in the middle. This new style of dashboard includes satellite controls for the heater and two large air vents. Rather than carpeting, an innovative mat covers parts of the floor. This is made from a technical textile originally developed for athletic shoes that is water repellant and very durable. The seats are covered with cloth, with the edges of the foam pads framed in kangaroo leather. Aluminum applications accentuate the dashboard.

Electric Motors :

The battery is mounted transversely behind the seats. The lithium-ion battery, which weighs around 90 kilograms (198.42 lb), stores 7.1 kWh of usable energy. The study’s two electric motors together produce 15 kW (20 hp) of continuous power and 47 Nm (34.67 lb-ft) of torque. The motors are mounted between the rear wheels, which they drive via a single-speed transmission.

The Audi urban concept accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 16.9 seconds. It reaches 60 km/h (37.28 mph) in around six seconds. The show car steps off from traffic lights smartly thanks to the torque of the electric motors, which is fully available from standstill. Top speed is governed at 100 km/h (62.14 mph).

The action radius in the European driving cycle is 73 km (45.36 miles). The battery recharges completely in about 20 minutes with 400 volt three-phase current, and in approximately one hour with 230 volt household current.

Charging Technology :

Audi is hard at work on the future of charging technology as an alternative to the charging at a power outlet. Audi Wireless Charging (AWC) refers to contactless induction charging. The infrastructure side, comprising a coil and an inverter (AC/AC converter), is placed on the normal parking spot of the Audi urban concept and connected to the power grid. The 3.6 kW primary coil set into the plate generates a high-frequency alternating field.

The charging process begins automatically when the Audi urban concept drives onto the plate. The alternating magnetic field of the infrastructure side induces an alternating current across the air gap in the secondary coil, which is integrated into the vehicle. This current is rectified and fed into the vehicle’s electrical system, where it charges the battery or powers consumers such as the heater. The alternating field is only generated if the vehicle is standing over the plate and thus poses no danger to people or animals.

Charging stops automatically when the battery is fully charged. The driver can interrupt charging at any time. The efficiency of AWC is comparable to that of other charging technologies. It is not affected by rain, snow or ice. The new technology makes charging e lectric vehicles easy and extremely convenient. A later version of the technology will be able to be integrated into the transportation infrastructure as a retrofit for parking garages or residential streets, for example.

2011 Honda Civic Type R Mugen 2.2 - Front Angle

Honda is a manufacturer of high-tech luxury cars, now featuring models of the Honda Civic Type R Mugen 2.2 in the new machine. This was done in an effort to increase customer confidence about the quality of the Honda. Mugen Honda Civic Type R debuted in 2010 to nearly universal recognition, but is now a technician at Northampton-based Euro Mugen have worked their magic again, producing a unique version with more power and torque.

Engines :

The cylinder bore and stroke have been increased to create an overall capacity of 2,156cc, so the car has been christened the Honda Civic Type R Mugen 2.2. The result of the change is a boost in engine output from 240 to 260PS, and additional torque is available throughout the rev range. Peak torque is now 240Nm at 6,000rpm. Compared to a standard Honda Civic Type R, both power and torque are up 30 per cent.

It has been created as a fitting tribute to the highly successful Honda K20 2.0-litre petrol engine, which has ceased production in Japan. When coupled to the host of motorsport-derived components created exclusively by Mugen – including sports suspension, uprated brakes and a stunning performance bodykit – the Mugen 2.2 represents the ultimate expression of the Honda Civic Type R philosophy.

The four internally ventilated disc brakes measure 400 millimeters (15.75 in) in diameter up front and 365 millimeters (14.37 in) at the rear. The matt black calipers up front bear S8 logos. Each of the optional carbon fiber-ceramic discs saves over five kilograms (11 lb) of weight. Their calipers are anthracite gray. The ESP stabilization program includes a sport mode, in which engine output is determined solely by the position of the pedals.

Exterior Design :

A decisive advantage of the Audi S8 is the comparatively low weight of 1,975 kilograms (4,354.13 lb). The luxury sedan’s ASF (Audi Space Frame) body is made almost entirely of aluminum. Only the B-pillars are made of ultra high-strength steel. The body weighs just 231 kilograms (509.27 lb); a conventional steel construction would be around 100 kilograms (220.46 lb) heavier. The Audi ultra-lightweight construction allows weight to be reduced in other areas as well, such as the chassis.

On the sides, body color trim strips on the sills, door handles with strips of aluminum and polished aluminum-look mirror housings catch the eye. The diffuser insert at the back of the car includes a blade with a two-layer aluminum-look finish offset with parts in platinum gray. The exhaust system ends in two oval dual tailpipes in a chrome-look finish. S8 or V8 T badges can be found in the front, on the back and on the sides. The color range includes 13 shades, two of which – Daytona Gray and Prism Silver – are reserved for the Audi S8.

Interior Design :

The interior shines with craftsman-like fit and finish and small yet effective accents. The multi-way, power-adjustable comfort sport seats have been designed exclusively for the Audi S8. They are optionally available with exclusive seat upholstery in quilted lunar silver. The stitching and piping are in contrasting steel gray, while the upper inlays on the instrument panel and tiptronic selector lever present the material Carbon Atlas.

The leather multifunction sport steering wheel has color-contrasting stitching and an S8 emblem, which can also be found on the instruments. Typical of the Audi S models, these have gray dials with white needles – a design which is repeated in the classic analogue clock. The illuminated door sill trims with the S8 logo are a further eye-catcher. The display of the driver information system and the MMI monitor greet the driver with special S8 screens. The shift paddles and pedals are in an aluminum-look finish; a red ring frames the start button.

The Audi S8 offers a wide selection of interior colors, inlays and seat upholstery. These include particularly soft Valcona leather and seats with ventilation and massage functions. The leather package, a DVD changer, the convenience key with sensor-controlled lock for the trunk and the ambient lighting package round out the list of standard interior equipment. The Audi S8 is also equipped with the innovative LED headlights and double glazing.

The free-breathing, 5.2-liter V10 in the previous model consumed an average of 13.2 liters per 100 km (17.82 US mpg). Fuel consumption decreased by nearly 23 percent despite a 51 kW (70 hp) increase in output.

The Audi drive select dynamics system encompasses these two systems as well as engine management, the eight-speed tiptronic and the sport differential. The driver can determine the function of these components by choosing between the five modes comfort, auto, dynamic, individual and efficiency.

Equipment :

Beyond the generous standard equipment, Audi makes all of the high-end options from the A8 series available in the new S8. The driver assistance systems, which are closely networked with one another and the navigation system, are particularly innovative. The core of these is the adaptive cruise control system with stop & go function; others include Audi side assist, Audi lane assist, the speed limit display and the night vision assistant with highlighting of detected pedestrians.

Supplementing these technologies is the safety system Audi pre sense, which is available in a number of versions.
